About John Thompson has been around horses and showing since he was three years old. As a youth John showed AQHA, traveling to all major circuits in many states. John achieved great success in his youth career amassing many All Arounds, Top Fives and Top Tens at Congress and World Show level.

At 15 years old, John started his formal training working as a full time assistant for some of the top All Around AQHA trainers in Arizona. John credits spending 6 years in this type of situation, experiencing some of the best barns and most successful trainers, to much of his business sense and success. He then continued his journey, taking over the riders and riding program at an established Appaloosa barn in Arizona. In the Appaloosa industry he helped lead his horses to many Top Ten, Top Five, World and Reserve World Titles as well as an All Around Amateur Title.

Since 2001, John has focused his talents on the Paint Horse Industry. This is where John took all of his previous experience and developed his program for success. This industry has taken John many places and he has dedicated his life to helping clients reach their goals, whether that has been winning World Titles or the success of making a great investment!! This journey has moved John around a lot, but it has led him to greatness, in and out of the show pen.

John continues to pursue high level goals and bring new ideas to the horse industry. Thompson Show Horses has over 20 World and Reserve World Titles and more than 80 Top Ten, Top Five, Finalist placings and 4 All-Around World Titles. With only a few years in the Paint Industry, John feels he has only begun his Title journey and feels like the future is even brighter for him and his clients. He will still continue doing the AQHA All Around horses, and is now offering his considerable skill to AQHA slot and futurity horses. (See Champions page for photos)
